How to Survive and Thrive in the Age of AI - Book Cover Bag

Updated: Apr 5

What Can I Do Now in a Society Where We Don’t Know Which Jobs Will Disappear or Emerge?

In the era of AI, the ability to use AI effectively is becoming essential.

To do so, we need to excel at asking the right questions. Human skills such as curiosity, creativity, emotions, psychology, leadership, and motivation—areas where AI cannot fully replicate us—are more important than ever. So, what should I do to strengthen these uniquely human qualities?

To think creatively and ask better questions, I first need to input knowledge into my mind.

No matter how much I try to utilise my long-term memory, generating creative ideas from an understocked knowledge base is challenging. For a long time, I didn’t consider myself a particularly creative or original person. However, I’ve come to realise that everyone is inherently creative. Often, it’s our fixed mindset about ourselves that stops us from even attempting creative thinking.

This realisation led me to start reading books. I began investing in myself by giving my mind quality inputs.

However, reading books alone isn’t enough. Simply finishing a book is just that—an end in itself. To make a book truly impactful, you need to take it further. Whether you stop at enjoying a book or derive something meaningful from it to apply in your life can make a significant difference in your outcomes.

For someone like me, who was always glued to a phone from morning to bedtime, reading felt like creating a whole new version of myself. Instead of just resolving to read more, I began carrying books with me everywhere. Along with books, I also carried a planner. Some people might see this as over-the-top, but as Einstein once said, expecting different results while repeating the same behaviour is the definition of insanity.

By simply carrying a book, I took a small but significant step toward becoming a different version of myself. This habit eventually inspired the creation of the book cover bag.

The Power of Reading to survive and Thrive in an AI Era

Reading encourages learning and self-discovery.

I’ve noticed that during tough times, I tend to read more books to better understand my problems or figure out solutions. Even in an era dominated by AI and video-based media, the written word remains powerful and unchanged. Writing has been a cornerstone of human civilisation for centuries. It’s through writing that we’ve advanced, learned, and grown.

In a rapidly changing world, focusing on what remains constant is key.

For me, that constant is the written word—reading and writing. I’ve decided to start here because these practices are essential for intellectual growth for surviving and thriving. To think deeply and critically, I must embrace the written word. Reading supports intellectual development, which is crucial for solving problems creatively and critically—skills that AI cannot replace.

How My Book Cover Bag Supports Human Growth

My product, the book cover bag, helps maintain this vital connection to reading and learning. It’s designed to make it easier for people to carry and engage with books, even in a fast-paced, tech-driven world. This connection is crucial for roles that require deep understanding, contextual thinking, and creativity—qualities that AI cannot replicate.

Reading is one of the most fundamental ways humans learn, grow, and adapt to changes, including those brought by AI. Through my product, I hope to inspire more people to embrace reading and writing, fostering intellectual and personal development in a world where these human strengths are more important than ever.
