I Wasn’t Always a Reader: The Story Behind Creating the Bookbag

How a Book Helped Me Reclaim Focus—and Why I Designed a Bookbag to Protect It

I wasn’t always someone who read books. I used to struggle with focus altogether. After spending so much time on my phone—scrolling, swiping, tapping—my attention span shrank. Even watching a full video felt like a chore. I’d get bored quickly, skip around, and rarely finish anything I started.

At first, I thought it was just who I was. But then I realised—I didn’t used to be like this.

Something had changed.

How Screens Rewired My Mind

I had trained my brain to crave fast content. Quick videos. Bite-sized updates. Instant feedback. It gave me short bursts of satisfaction—but left me drained, restless, and scattered.

I lost something important: The ability to be still. To go deep. To truly think.

So I made a quiet decision—one that would change everything.

I started reading again.

A red book titled "The Secret" rests on top of an open book inside a book cover bag, illuminated by sunlight on an outdoor bench.

Reclaiming My Focus Through Books

I didn’t pick up a book out of discipline or obligation. I started reading again out of curiosity. And what I discovered surprised me.

In just a few pages, I could absorb lessons that it took someone years—or a lifetime—to learn. I didn’t have to make every mistake myself. I could grow faster, see clearly, and navigate life with more direction simply by reading.

Even novels transformed me. Learning to remember unfamiliar names, imagine different worlds, and understand complex emotions helped me reconnect with myself and with others.

Reading brought me back to stillness. To present. To depth.

The Power of Carrying a Story

In a world that rewards speed and distraction, reading is a quiet act of rebellion. It’s a return to presence—a way to slow down and reconnect with thoughtfulness.

That’s what I hope our products support: small, meaningful habits that ground you. The book cover bag was designed not just to protect your book, but to protect the habit of reading itself.

Because carrying a book isn’t only about the story inside—it’s about what it represents. A moment to pause. A space to think. A gentle reminder that growth doesn’t always come from a screen.

So the next time you leave the house, grab your book in a bookbag. Slide in a story. And carry something with you that feeds your mind, not just your feed.

💛 Because sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do is slow down—and turn a page.
